Maximize Variable Pay to Boost Performance in a Down Economy
Course Description:
Did you know 47 percent of US private sector employees have had part of their compensation tied to their company’s profitability or stock price? In fact, if you include stock options, deferred stock, profit sharing or cash bonuses, that’s nearly half of 114 million employees.
When the market was rising, employees and managers alike were happy, because they were motivated to help the company do well. In today’s struggling economy, rewards like these are less appealing and often ineffectual.
So, why dish out equal merit increases or performance bonuses when it’s just more cost-efficient to single-out your best workers?
Join CCM in this timely audio conference to learn best practices and key strategies on how your organization can hand out greater rewards to deserving employees while minimizing costs and enhancing organizational performance.
In just 75 minutes, our expert faculty will provide you with the tools to:
- Determine if a variable pay plan will benefit your organization and focus employee attention on the achievement of the organization's goals
- Identify if more than one plan is needed based on employee groups
- Involve the entire organization in the process to ensure buy-in
- Target specific job functions that make sense
- Effectively demonstrate the merits of a variable pay program to your employees
- Evaluate employee performance before and after implementing a variable pay system
- Avoid common problems some employers face when switching pay systems
- Develop processes for valuing the plan cost during the year
- Create a comprehensive employee communications plan with dates and materials
