Setting Pay Rates: Using Competitive Pay Analysis to Determine Market Price
Course Description:
No matter the economic environment, pay still matters. In fact, knowing how to set competitive pay is key to the success of any organization.
Why? Because competitive pay doesn’t break your company’s bank— it keeps current employees happy, entices prospective new hires, and keeps your accountant at bay.
Salaries and benefits should be set at pre-established levels in relationship to similar positions at competitor organizations. But, according to Mercer’s Market Value Report, pay across jobs is becoming less consistent than ever.
The result? The job of determining market price to set competitive pay now seems practically impossible. So, how can you set pay rates that are competitive when accurate industry data is in flux?
In this must-attend CCM teleconference, you’ll find out how to:
- Utilize pay analysis processes for the current economic environment,
- Use market pricing to help your organization meet financial objectives, and
- Apply market data to analyze current pay schemes and ensure competitive compensation levels
By the end of this critical session, you’ll also know:
- Key terminology for market pricing
- Best practices for communicating pay analysis results
- How to identify and collect quality and timely data for critical skills positions
- Top pay analysis techniques for making hiring and promotion decisions
- How incentives, merit increases, and bonuses figure in
- Best time to update salary ranges
