Handling Employee Complaints: How to Avoid the Worst Mistakes Managers Can Make
Course Description:
Coworkers don't always get along, employees don't always agree with management's decisions, and not every team member consistently interacts with others in a professional manner.
It’s human nature; and it’s something every manager — not just HR — has to deal with. But here’s the problem, some issues may seem “minor” to your first line managers or supervisors, and they simply brush these employee complaints and disputes aside, or pretend like they don't exist.
By law, your organization just mishandled the initial employee complaint which in-turn could provoke a costly lawsuit.
Course Highlights:
This information-packed audio conference will explore the policies and procedures you need in place to assure all employee complaints and concerns are handled consistently, fairly and legally.
During this comprehensive audio conference, our expert faculty will explore:
- the crucial steps to include in your complaint procedure;
- best practices for the resolution process; and
- how to recognize red flag issues that may result in legal issues.
During this must-attend session, you’ll also come away with tips and techniques for addressing workplace issues and swiftly resolving employee struggles, including:
- How to recognize the difference between an employee expressing dissatisfaction and one citing possible policy violation
- Methods for changing perspective of managers who are first to hear employee complaints (case studies, role play etc.)
- Information gathering methods for examining the facts and identifying a possible solution (and what state and federal law defines as “protected activity”)
- Best practices for improving employee satisfaction post-complaint
- Preventative measures to get feedback from your employees before issues turn into complaints
- The biggest employee complaint gotchas that land organizations in litigation
