E-Privacy: How to Legally Monitor Electronic Communications
Course Description:
Gone are the days when your employees detached themselves from the workplace as soon as they left for the day. Today’s worker is connected to the workplace and the rest of the world both in and out of the office.
From Blackberries and iPhones to webcams and thumb drives information is constantly being exchanged. And let’s not forget about blogging, instant messaging, MySpace and those inappropriate down-loads that can create an environment of potential legal disaster.
Yet, keeping tabs on your employees’ e-behavior can be tricky since privacy laws dictate who, what and how you can monitor electronic communications.
Find out how to legally monitor your employees’ use of technology without violating privacy laws in this invaluable CCM audio conference. Discover how implementing appropriate policies can limit your liability, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
By the end of this 75-minute session, you’ll also know:
- Industry statistics behind this increasing workplace issue
- Why you need to have a legally sound monitoring plan and how to put one in place
- How to stay compliant with federal privacy and labor laws
- When it’s appropriate to monitor employee phone calls and when it’s not
