Maximizing Compensation Dollars in Today’s Economy: Key Techniques to Curb Company Spending
Course Description:
From layoffs to hiring freezes, shorter work weeks to salary cuts, and mandatory furloughs to reductions in benefits, companies around the globe are searching for ways to reduce costs as the economic downturn continues.
But how are you to know which tactics are best for your company? Will the decisions you make reduce turnover and encourage company loyalty? Or will they contribute to decreases in morale and lack of productivity?
In this environment it's important to avoid taking steps which reduce costs in the short-term but cripple your company’s ability to recover and prosper in the longer-term.
In this critical CCM audio conference, you'll learn key techniques and best practice solutions to:
- confirm your long term compensation philosophy, while
- identifying the compensation options and tactics that address your short term needs and constraints.
By the end of this interactive session, you'll also learn:
- The importance of a compensation philosophy and the process for either developing or affirming one.
- An approach for using compensation philosophy to guide the shorter term reward decisions and tactics necessary in this environment.
- The different categories of compensation, both cash and non-cash, and the relative role and importance of each one.
- Guidelines for assessing overall reward expenditures against your compensation philosophy.
- Why competitive market pricing will remain important.
- Best practices for designing cash and non-cash incentives in a troubled economy.
