New ADA Rules: Complying with Mandatory Changes
Course Description:
What does the new Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act mean to you, the employer? And how do the mandatory changes, effective January 1, 2009, affect both future and past claims?
The new rules overturn a series of court decisions that narrowed the scope of the definition of disability under theAmericans with Disabilities Act. The law expands the definition of "disability," adds rules of construction rejecting past Supreme Court interpretations of the Act, and makes changes to the ADA's codified findings and regulatory authority.
Basically, it dramatically increased the number of employees who can claim a disability and narrows the grounds for employer defenses.
Find out how the new Amendments could affect your organization and why it’s so important to retrain your staff and ensure compliance under the new ADAAA in this must-attend CCM audio conference.
By the end of this critical session, you’ll know:
- What Supreme Court decisions wereoverturned, thus affecting present andfuture claims

- Changes regarding “mitigating measures” and how they might effect the determination ofdisability
- Definition of “perception of impairment” and how the incorrect handling of a claim can result in unnecessary litigation
